Allan Fung claims Gina Raimondo has consistently shown a lack of transparency while in a leadership role.

“In case after case, she has not led or shown decisive action,” said Fung in front of the Providence Water Supply Board.

While talking with reporters, Fung pointed out Raimondo’s venture capital firm, Point Judith Capital, invested in Envista Corporation. He said Envista and Point Judith Capital profited from a contract with the Providence Water Supply Board while Raimondo’s husband was its Chairman.

In addition to the Providence Water Supply Board, Fung also pointed out a recent ruling that says Raimondo’s claims of fighting against 38 Studios was mostly false.

“In fact, we all know, all she did was send an email,” said Fung.

He also claimed over half of Raimondo and Governor Chafee’s appointees were lobbyists. He also said she gave state contracts to donors.

Fung also brought up the issues at Rhode Island Housing saying that she should have been at meetings when issues started arising.

“The Treasurer is just playing politics with the facts to hide her own lack of leadership and results,” said Fung.

In a statement, Raimondo spokeswoman Nicole Kayner said Fung is only attempting to distract voters from his own record.

“Gina’s husband Andy did serve as the Chairman of the Board of Providence Water Supply.  As a board member, he was not involved in any way with this contract, which was negotiated and awarded by the Providence Water management team; nor was he even aware of it.  As with all contracts in Providence, this contract was reviewed and approved by the Providence Board of Contract and Supply, which is comprised of representatives from city departments, in which Andy did not participate.”
