In an effort to highlight the work of local businesses, Governor Gina Raimondo and Commerce Secretary Stefan Pryor visited Danielle, Inc. in Burriville, a company that specializes in the curing of meats.

“Any Rhode Islander who hasn’t had Danielle prosciutto should go get some because it supports a local company and is delicious,” said Raimondo.

“We’re all getting ready for the SuperBowl and what better way to watch the patriots win than by chomping on some local prosciutto.”

Raimondo said the visit to Danielle was the first in what will be a series of visits to local businesses that she and Pryor will go on. The goal of the visits according to the duo is to learn more from local businesses and to collect new ideas on how to turn the state’s lagging economy around.

“What we need to do is find some practical solutions to break down barriers so businesses can be successful, because when they’re successful they hire people,” said Raimondo.

The family-owned Danielle has been curing meat for sale in Rhode Island since 1976.
