The FBI and West Warwick police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the person who vandalized the Islamic School of Rhode Island last month. They have released five photos taken from surveillance footage catching a man vandalizing the school

“I just really hope that the public can help us out on this,” said Special Agent in charge for white collar crime and civil rights matters Lucy Ziobro.

The images show what appears to be a man wearing a winter coat, with a ski mask and scarf on spray painting one of the buildings.

The FBI, West Warwick Police and the West Warwick Town council are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and prosecution of the person responsible for the vandalism.

“Hopefully somebody from within that neighborhood and who maybe could have been around at the time which would have been sometime between the evening of February 13 through February 15 that could have seen this happen,” said Ziobro.

“West Warwick Police hopes the public will be able to assist us in identifying the individual who is responsible for writing these senseless and hateful comments. We’re asking the public to look at the surveillance images so we can identify the person responsible and bring him to justice,” added Major John F. Magiera.

Anyone with information should call the FBI at 1-401-272-8310 or the West Warwick Police Department at 401-827-9044. Tips can also be submitted electronically at tips.fbi.gov.
