While it may not come as a surprise for residents of the Ocean State, Georgetown University released a study ranking Rhode as the third worst state in terms of job opportunities for college graduates.

According to the study, the final numbers were tallied by looking at the amount of job positions offered to college grads online. The study states that the majority of jobs geared to recently graduated students are almost entirely advertised online.

Rhode Island ranked third from the bottom with only 3,900 jobs posted, while neighboring Massachusetts had over 94,000 posted. The only two states who performed below Rhode Island were Wyoming and Vermont.

The study says the state as a whole underperforms in all sectors when it comes to online job listings.

It isn’t all bad news for Rhode Island, according to the study, the state ranked at the top the list in terms of growth in both government and leisure sectors.
