CRANSTON, R.I. (AP) – Police say a suspect with ties to a Providence street gang has been arrested in a weekend shooting at a Cranston mini-market that left another man injured.

Nineteen-year-old Rony Martinez was arrested Sunday night on gun and drug charges. Police say a search of his Cranston home turned up drugs, ammunition and several live marijuana plants.

He is suspected of involvement in a shooting Saturday night outside the Tuma Mini Market that left a 22-year-old man suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds. The Associated Press could not immediately determine whether Martinez has an attorney.

Cranston police say Martinez is a known associate of the Providence-based Hanover Boyz gang.

Detectives are still searching for the firearm used in the shooting.
