Hillary Clinton’s latest stop in Rhode Island brought in more than $300,000 for her 2016 presidential bid.

The former Secretary of State and Senator arrived to the fundraiser shortly before 6:30 PM with a 6 car motorcade escorted by two state troopers.

All of Fox Run Road in East Greenwich was lined with a long row of cars of dignitaries and supporters of Clinton who attended the event. Tickets for the fund raiser started at $1,000 and was hosted by Democratic activist Mark Weiner and former Providence Mayor Joseph Paolino.

“It’s very exciting to have Hillary Clinton coming to our neighborhood,” said Carolyn who lives down the road from the home the fundraiser took place at. “My girls and I were very fortunate to be able to go see her last time she was here and we got a picture with her and she was just the epitome of grace.”

However, there were some neighbors who came out to watch the motorcade drive by who were not fans of Clinton.  “I am actually a registered Independent, I have nothing against any party in particular, I just don’t think Hillary is an honest or fair representative of this country,” said Michael Lippe. Lippe stood there with two women holding signs that were telling Clinton to “go home” and referencing her emails regarding Benghazi.

Attendees of the fundraiser included the Governor Gina Raimondo, General Treasurer Seth Magaziner, Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea, some State Representatives, Mayors, and Clay Pell.

“We think that Hillary will be a great President,” said Clay Pell. It was announced on Wednesday Pell’s wife, Michelle Kwan, will be helping Clinton throughout her campaign.

Many guests were in high spirits as they left the fundraiser and were excited to have Clinton return to the Ocean State.
