Hundreds of people flocked to Alex and Ani City Center in downtown Providence Thursday morning to take part in auditions for American Idol.
Groups of four or five singers were called at a time to perform in front of the show’s producers. The iconic singing competition show is headed into its 15th and final season. Auditions were held from 9:00a.m. until 5:00p.m.
Performers who qualified for the next stage of competition were whisked away by event staff to sign more forms and to prepare for the next step.
While some of those who did not make the cut expressed frustration over not making it further, others were happy to be a small part of the show’s final season.
