Attorney General Peter Kilmartin’s office confirms that Ricardo Garcia, a Providence firefighter, has beenĀ arrested and charged with felony possession of cocaine and intent to deliver.

Garcia is currently suspended without pay.

According to reports, Garcia was stopped for a traffic violation earlier this month in East Providence when officers found 250 grams of cocaine wrapped in plastic bags in his SUV.

Garcia has a pre-arraignment conference on November 4 and an arraignment scheduled for November 14.

The East Providence Police Department is referring reporters to the Attorney General for comment.
