Providence College Friars Head Coach Ed Cooley checked in with WPRO’s Dan Yorke before the team boarded a plane to Dayton, Ohio where they will take on University of Southern California at University of Dayton.

When asked if he had any advice for University of Rhode Island Rams Head Coach Dan Hurley as the Rams head to Sacramento, California to play Creighton University, Coach Cooley had two words, “transition defense.”

In reference to URI and PC both playing in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1997 and only the 5th time ever, Coach Cooley said he’s “very excited about that. It’s exciting for our state, for our city…basically for southern Rhode Island. All of the fans can get behind both teams.”
