Mark Shane joined Dan Yorke Wednesday afternoon to explain the motives behind his decision to organize a football jersey burning event. Shane told Dan that he is planning the event to protest the NFL’s choice to allow players and staff to kneel during the national anthem. Shane suggests that he will no longer support the Patriots if “nothing changes.” He also shared he feels that kneeling during the anthem is disrespectful to veterans and their families and that, “if you ask us to choose between country and football,[the NFL] doesn’t have a chance.”

Shane is asking event attendees to bring donations to support victims of hurricane Harvey and hurricane Irma and the local boys’ support organization.
