Police: Stolen Dunkin’ Donuts card led us to suspected thief

SCITUATE, R.I. (AP) — Police in Rhode Island say a stolen Dunkin’ Donuts card led them to a suspect now charged with eight counts of larceny and two counts of vandalism.

Scituate police say they began receiving reports of vehicles being broken into on Oct. 7. WPRI-TV reports some of the vehicles were left unlocked while others had windows smashed.

Police say a victim told officials her Dunkin’ Donuts car was stolen and being used to make purchases. Police used the information to track down the 29-year-old Warwick man.

Police searched the suspect’s home with warrants and found items of interest alongside an item reported stolen.

The suspect was due for arraignment Wednesday.
