CRANSTON, R.I. (AP) – A Rhode Island man who was captured on video last summer leading a 17-year-old girl around on a leash is heading to prison on a child pornography charge.
John McEvoy pleaded no contest recently to a felony charge of possessing child pornography.
McEvoy was sentenced to five years in prison, with one year to serve.
Police arrested the 25-year-old Cranston man after they were alerted to a video posted on social media of him and the same girl having sex. Although the girl was above the legal age of consent in Rhode Island, it is illegal to possess or produce pornography with people under the age of 18.
He wasn’t charged for having the girl on a leash last August because the girl told police she wasn’t doing anything against her will.
