NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (AP) – A state audit has found that a Massachusetts sheriff’s office failed to properly transfer more than $348,000 in reimbursements from Immigration and Customs Enforcement to the state treasurer.

The Standard-Times reports that the audit released Wednesday found the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office didn’t ensure the state received appropriate compensation and didn’t submit required inmate total cost analysis reports among other complaints.

Sheriff Thomas Hodgson says each finding has been corrected.

The report also looked into the conditions at the Bristol County House of Corrections.

It found the facility was operating below capacity, and its ratio of health care personnel to inmates and suicide rates were similar to other county facilities.

Overall, Hodgson says he is “very pleased” with how his office ran.
