A son of late Rhode Island mobster Frank “Bobo” Marrapese Jr. charged with murder in the death of his ex-girlfriend has been held without bail after a boisterous court appearance.

Michael Marrapese is charged in the death of 29-year-old Lauren Ise, who was found dead Wednesday at a Cranston apartment the estranged couple previously shared. Prosecutors say Marrapese called a friend to say he had killed Ise. That person called police.

In court, the 40-year-old Marrapese said something under his breath to the victim’s brother who responded with an expletive-filled outburst that prompted the judge to hold him in contempt.

Ise’s family alleged Marrapese said “You’re next.”

Ise’s mother says her daughter had sought a restraining order this week, but was denied.

“Everyone loved Lauren, if you knew Lauren you loved her,” said her mother, Cheryl Palazzo to reporters outside the court. Her son and Lauren Ise’s brother Ryan Ise was released after apologizing to the judge for his outburst.
