PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — The husband of a Rhode Island state representative has been arrested after investigators say he stole credit cards through the mail and bought electronics.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service arrested Henry Fellela Jr. last Friday on charges of identify theft and fraud.

Postal Inspector Joshua Governale says multiple victims in Connecticut reported credit cards that were mailed to them never arrived, but purchases were being made.

Prosecutors say purchases included an Apple iPad, a Microsoft Surface Pro laptop and a toaster.

Fellela’s attorney has declined to comment.

Fellela was released from federal prison in 2018 after serving four years for similar charges.

Prosecutors said in that case Fellela made $83,000 in purchases with stolen credit cards.
