Saying Thursday’s release of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report into Russian interference in the 2016 election and suspected obstruction by President Donald Trump details “unacceptable, unpatriotic and unethical conduct”, Congressman David Cicilline said a subpoena issued Friday by the House Judiciary Committee for the unredacted version of the report should help Congress determine whether to initiate an impeachment effort against the President.

“We live in a country of laws,” said Cicilline, a Democrat and member of the Judiciary Committee told reporters reporters in his Pawtucket office Friday. “We have a responsibility to make sure that everyone understands no one is above the law, including the President.”

“When you read this Mueller report, if you’re a patriot, you are deeply offended by what happened. And, it shouldn’t matter whether you’re a Republican, a Democrat or political at all. Everybody in this country should read this report and demand that we make certain this never happens again and that anybody who helped facilitate this is held accountable,” Cicilline said.
