(SURPRISE, Ariz.) -- Veteran pitcher Derek Lowe signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers Wednesday.
The deal also includes an invitation to spring training.
The 39-year-old Lowe is will make $1.25 million if he makes the major league roster and could make more with incentives.
Last season Lowe played for the Cleveland Indians and the New York Yankees. He made 38 regular season appearances in 2012, including 21 starts for the Indians. For the season Lowe went 9-11 with a 5.11 ERA, a 1.62 WHIP and one save.
