The driver of a car that got into an accident in Taunton resulting in the death of two 18-year-old men and injured three other passengers will be charged with two counts of vehicular homicide reports WPRI-TV.
The driver, 24-year-old Nicholas Costa, crashed the Honda Accord he was driving into a tree shortly before 12:30 a.m. on Sunday morning on Bay Street in Taunton.
18-year-old Eden Macedo and 18-year-old Justin Neto were killed. Costa, who is currently in a coma, and three other passengers were transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Authorities say that Costa was driving with a suspended license at the time of the accident.
Police say speed and alcohol were factors in the accident. The group was leaving Providence after not being allowed into a night club. A bottle of vodka that was two-thirds empty was recovered in the front seat. No one in the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt.
