Slater Junior High School in Pawtucket was put on lockdown on Tuesday morning after a student reported that a boy had shown him a gun.
WPRI-TV reports that the incident occurred shortly after 9:30 a.m. Principal Jacqueline Ash was alarmed by the report that a non-student was in the building and possibly armed. She put the school on an “in-school” lockdown, prohibiting any outsiders from entering.
Shortly after the school went on lockdown police took a juvenile into custody although it is unclear whether a weapon had been recovered.
