Questions are swirling over where the body of Tamerlan Tsarnaev will be buried, after several cemeteries have refused to take the remains.
Governor Deval Patrick said Monday he knows the family has “some options,” and hopes they make a decision on what to do with Tsarnaev’s body soon.
“This isn’t a state or a federal issue, it’s a family issue,” Patrick told reporters in New Bedford.
“I think everybody is feeling the upset about what happened, but we showed the world, in the immediate aftermath of the attacks, what a civilization looks like, and I’m proud of what we showed,” he said.
He said people need to step back and let the family make their decision.
