A snow sculpture that resembles a phallus has been getting a lot of complaints in South County.

Captain Joel Ewing-Chow said the South Kingstown Police Department has received several calls from neighbors near Middlebridge Road, where a 12-foot-tall snow sculpture of a certain part of the male anatomy stands.
"Somebody had put a phallic-type symbol made of snow in their yard," said Ewing-Chow, who personally has not seen the sculpture.
Despite complaints, Ewing-Chow said the snow phallus is on private property so there's not much the police can do about it. If it had been on public property, Ewing-Chow said they probably would have removed it already.
"We don't believe this is a police matter that we're going to get involved in and force somebody to take that off their front lawn, it is on private property," he said. Adding,"I know that, as much as people may be offended by it, I think we have to allow the person to express themselves freely."
Besides, Ewing-Chow said he doesn't think the snow structure will last much longer.
"At this point, I think it's only got a couple of days left with the warm weather," he said.
