The Autism Project hosted a record-breaking Imagine Walk and Family Fun Day at Goddard Memorial State Park in Warwick Sunday.
Traffic was stopped in East Greenwich as thousands trickled in to the park for the fundraiser, which early estimates show raised $200,000.
Roughly 8,000 people were in attendance according to park estimates. Dignitaries like Governor Lincoln Chafee, Lt. Governor Elizabeth Roberts and Congressmen James Langevin and David Cicilline were also present. WPRO’s own Kim Kalunian and WPRI 12’s Danielle North served as co-emcees for the event.
Newstalk 630 WPRO AM and 99.7 FM has been a proud sponsor of the Imagine Walk for the past six years.
The Austim Project is a collaboration of parents and professionals to develop a comprehensive system of care and resources that meet the needs of children and adults with autism and their families.
This was the 11th Annual Imagine Walk and Family Fun Day. Last year’s event raised $165,000.
