A new poll shows that 44% of voters believe Santa Claus is a Democrat. Only 28% of people said the ‘jolly old elf’ is a Republican.

The new holiday poll released by  Public Policy Polling also revealed that 47% believe there is a national “war on Christmas,” while 40% rejected the idea.

43% say that if they saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus they would tell daddy 40% said they would keep the secret, 17% were not sure.

If Grandma got run over by a reindeer 61% of people say they would not press charges against Santa, 24% would. Democrats are more likely to press charges according to the poll; 33% of Democrats would press charges compared to the 19% of Republicans who would.

52% of those polled said they believe in Santa Claus and 80% said they were on the nice list while 11% admitted to being naughty.

Most voters, 54%, believed that Santa Claus may cut back on Christmas presents because of the looming the looming “fiscal cliff.”
