Two siblings are organizing a candlelight vigil to honor the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
Twins, Christina and Brendan Conley, both high school freshman are organizing the vigil at St. Mary’s Church in Bristol for Friday Dec. 21 at 7 p.m.
Deborah Conley, the twins’ mother said that after the violence at Sandy Hook Elementary School the kids wanted to do something to help. Christina came up with the idea of hosting a vigil, Deborah contacted the church and they agreed to help host the event.
Brendan is a freshman at Bishop Hendricken High School and Christina attends Bay View academy. Both have invited their classmates and teachers to attend. The two are hoping to attract as many Rhode Islanders as possible to remember the victims of the tragedy and mourn the loss for the families.
Anyone who wishes to attend is asked to bring their own candle. Means to light the candles will be provided at the vigil.
