National Grid spokesman, David Graves, said Sunday morning that in the past 24 hours, they've restored power to 115,000 customers.
Graves said the overnight, from 9 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday, power was restored 54,000 customers.
"The night crews did a great job," he said.
Graves said there is still a signifciant number of downed wires, and a lot of snow hindering crews. He's hopeful that improved weather conditions today and tomorrow will expedite the recovery process.
"We've got some better weather conditions today that can hopefully assist us in getting the rest of these customers restored," he said.
The number of outages across the state is down to just over 73,000, and Graves said he expects to have the "overwhelming majority" of those customers back up and running before midnight Sunday.
Th more isolated and heavily damaged areas, he said, will take a bit more time.
"The goal is to get all of those customers up...and have their power resored by midnight tomorrow night," he said.
