John DePetro is the host of the Top rated “John DePetro and the WPRO Morning News,” heard weekdays from 6am  until 10am, on 630 AM and 99 point 7 FM. John also has a weekly commentary segment on NBC 10 called “Making Waves” with Gene Valicenti.  John was a keynote speaker at both 2009 Tea Party Rallys, held at the Rhode Island Statehouse. John DePetro is often seen on RIPBS “Lively Experiment”.

John DePetro has performed stand up comedy, and appeared in his first motion picture this past Fall.

John DePetro is the 2008 Associated Press winner for Best Talk show.  Also known as "The Independent Man," DePetro a native Rhode Islander born in the Edgewood section of Cranston. A college Communications major, he lived in New York City and worked for ABC before returning to Rhode Island. From 1999 to 2004, John DePetro was a top rated talk host on the Rhode Island airwaves. DePetro had a successful six year run in Providence where he was known for investigating corruption and scandals in Rhode Island and consistently breaking news involving high ranking public officials.

In addition to radio, John was a constant presence on local TV with a daily program on Cox 3. In 2004, DePetro left Rhode Island where he went to work in Boston. John DePetro entered Boston as an unknown, but soon everyone in Boston would know his name. His work in Boston also brought him much national TV exposure, appearing on the Fox news channel, MSNBC, and CNN. DePetro was also often seen on WGBH, NECN, and Fox 25 Boston.
