Rhode Island is the fifteenth healthiest state according to a newly released American Health Rankings report.
The Ocean State moved up four places from last year due to the state’s “high immunization coverage and ready availability of primary care physicians.”
Rhode Island Department of Health Director Michael Fine said in a statement, “We are pleased by these steps forward for Rhode Island’s health, but we are also reminded of the work that will help us get to number one.”
The report said Rhode Island must still deal with health concerns like drug overdoses and binge drinking.
