Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza says he is pleased with how the city has responded to the blizzard and how the residents have been staying off the roads.

“Since midnight there have been no motor vehicle accidents in the entire city, that means people are heeding our advice to stay off of the roads and everybody is doing their part,” said Elorza.

The Capital City dodged a bullet when it came to power outages and crews are working around the clock to keep roads clear.

Elorza reiterated the need for the city’s residents to stay inside.
