1-800-POTHOLE. You might want to remember that number.
A new bill sponsored by Rep. Greg Costantino (D-Lincoln) would create a new pothole hotline – a “potline” of sorts.
The bill would use the number 1-800-POTHOLE or 1-888-POTHOLE to allow drivers to call in and report the bumps to the Rhode Island Department of Transportation.
And it wouldn’t just apply to state roads and highways; the bill stipulates that the DOT relay any reports of potholes on city and town roads to the proper municipality.
Already “potlines” are being used in states like New York and New Jersey.
