PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – A nursing education center in Providence set to be complete in time for the start of the fall 2016 semester at the University of Rhode Island has been delayed.

J. Vernon Wyman, URI’s assistant vice president for business services, says the developer expects the building to be finished in November 2016, with classes starting in January for the spring 2017 semester.

It’s not known what caused the delay. The Providence Journal reports that a spokesman for CV Properties, the Boston developer spearheading the project, did not provide details.

Nursing students from Rhode Island College and the University of Rhode Island will share classrooms and laboratories in the converted power station. Brown University administrators will use about half the space for offices.
