Former Red Sox Pitcher Curt Schilling says he is looking forward to the court records surrounding the Economic Development Corporation to be unsealed.

The Associated Press reports Max Wistow, a lawyer for Rhode Island’s economic development agency is asking a judge to unseal filings in its lawsuit over the failed 38 Studios deal.

Wistow says there’s a public interest in unsealing the documents because those involved have asked a judge to rule immediately on whether many claims in the multimillion-dollar lawsuit can go forward.

In an exclusive statement to WPRO’s John DePetro Show, Schilling said, “I am hoping and anticipating that if/when anything is made public that everything is made public so the public – and the press – can finally know what happened and why.”

Wistow says he also wants to keep future related filings public.

Arguments are expected to be heard in Superior Court on Friday.

Schilling’s failed video game company got a $75 million state-backed loan. The former Economic Development Corp. sued Schilling and others over the collapse.
