A Newport City Councilor wants the Chairwoman of the Miantonomi Park Commission to step down after she reportedly left a racist voicemail on his phone.
The Newport Patch reports John Florez played the voicemail left by Ann Canole Twomey during a city council meeting, where she reportedly calls him a “Colombian carpetbagger.”
Twomey allegedly goes on to say Florez is not a real Newporter because he was not born in the city.
