CRANSTON, R.I. —Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Darlene Love, in her sixth decade of performing and touring, this Grammy and Oscar winner brings her holiday show to the Park Theatre in Cranston for one night only on December 9.

Hers was the voice that helped launch a hundred hits: the No. 1 “He’s a Rebel,” “(Today I Met) the Boy I’m Gonna Marry,” “He’s Sure the Boy I Love,” and “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home),” all of which she sang for the legendary producer Phil Spector during the glory days of the girl-group era, as well as countless songs she sang backup on for artists like Sam Cooke, Elvis Presley, Dionne Warwick, Cher and Aretha Franklin. She also toured the country as a member of Bob. B. Soxx and the Blue Jeans and had a regular spot on the TV show Shindig, where she crossed paths with such legends as Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles and the Supremes.

Love earned a legion of new, young fans with the 2013 release of the Oscar-winning film “Twenty Feet from Stardom,”  that featured her legendary story as part of Phil Spector’s ‘Wall of Sound.’ Her 2015 recording, “Introducing Darlene Love” was greeted with critical acclaim and a variety of television appearances. Produced by fellow musician and long time friend Steven Van Zandt, it includes selections written for Darlene by Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Jimmy Webb and many others including two notable songs by Stevie himself.
