Former Governor Chafee joined The Dan Yorke Show to voice his opposition to the Burrillville power plant proposal. Chafee provided three reasons he opposes the power plant: water issues, pollution, and cost effectiveness.

Dan also spoke with the former Governor about the current UHIP controversy. When asked about Governor Raimondo’s handling of the expansion of the UHIP program, Governor Chafee shared,”I dont think the Governor knew what was really going on.”

Governor Chafee is in agreement with Governor Raimondo on the necessity for increased transparency in the 38 Studios case, “I am all for full disclosure.” He also offered that attention should be paid to hedge fund losses under the Raimondo treasury.

When asked about the motivation behind his choice to formally oppose the Burillville power plant, Governor Chafee explained he is only involved as “a taxpayer.”
