That from former Governor Lincoln Chafee to WPRO’s Tara Granahan on the reported success and role of then-General Treasurer Gina Raimondo in RI’s pension overhaul. Chafee recounted the events of 2010, saying he felt Raimondo was more “counter-productive” than helpful. While mentioning “dark money” and the group Engage RI as “friends” of the now governor, Chafee said Raimondo was “hogging credit” on a national stage in regards to pension reform.
Granahan also asked Chafee to name a couple of potential candidates for governor in 2018. The former mayor/senator/governor replied that of course he’s held the job, and added, “you have to have choices… right now, I’m a Democrat.”
