Trillo says he has been parking campaign truck at Carpionato properties

Gubernatorial candidate Fmr. Rep. Joe Trillo joined the Dan Yorke Show Thursday after Yorke’s interview with WPRI 12’s Ted Nesi regarding the Target 12 investigation into Allan Fung and other Cranston politicians’ rent-free working spaces.

Following the interview with Nesi, Dan Yorke Show callers said they have seen the “Trillo for Governor” truck parked at multiple former Benny’s locations throughout the state including in Warwick, East Providence, and East Greenwich. The former Benny’s properties are now owned by the Carpionato Group; the group that the Fung campaign rented from in Chapel Hill during the 2016 campaign season in question.

The Dan Yorke Show team called Joe Trillo for comment. He told Yorke during an on-air interview that he “asked permission” to park in the Benny’s parking lots.

Trillo is not paying to do so and said that he will be asking for an advisory opinion moving forward.

Trillo told the Dan Yorke Show that he will be removing all of the trucks currently parked on the Carpionato Group’s property at once.
